Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) is a land trust – a nonprofit, community-based conservation organization that permanently conserves and manages land for public benefit in the Southern Piedmont of North Carolina. We are dedicated to saving land and connecting lives to nature. Volunteers under the age of 18 need an adult to accompany them while they volunteer.

Volunteer to help out on the nearly 230 parks and facilities located on more than 21,000 acres of parkland throughout Mecklenburg County.The minimum age requirement may vary according to the volunteer task to be accomplished. For most Park projects, volunteers must be at least age 12 and volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old. A parent must sign off on our waiver/acknowledgement of risk on behalf of any Volunteer who is under the age of 18.

Trees Charlotte

TreesCharlotte is a public/private nonprofit collaboration to grow, diversify and steward the city’s iconic urban forest. Trained volunteers and science-based programs teach residents about the value of trees and how to plant and care for them. Volunteers can take part in a variety of rewarding tasks such as planting trees at events, packing seedlings for distribution, and engaging with the community. Adult supervision is required for youth volunteers.
